Ikaho Stone Steps
This is the well known Ikaho Stone Steps, form the main street of Ikaho Hot Springs resort area. It is a street lined with Japanese-Style Inns, local gift shops and shooting galleries. On the way up the stone steps, you will find the poem “Ikaho no Machi” engraved there.
Ginkakuji, Kyoto
Ginkakuji temple in Kyoto is famous for it’s sand sculptures and above all the maple leaves are just starting to turn bright red. Kyoto Autumn leave viewing period will be from late November to early December depending on places.
Tofuku-ji Temple, Kyoto
Tofuku-ji Temple is located on the eastern side of Kyoto and is one of Kyoto’s best spots for autumn foliage. Especially famous is the Tsuten bridge, which connects the main temple to the Kaisando temple that stands at the foot of Mt. Higashi. From the viewing point at the middle of this bridge, you look out at the stunning maples from both sides.
Mt Hakodate
The night view from Mt. Hakodate is world-beating. The ropeway is the standard way to visit the mountain and you will reach the summit station in just three minutes. The observatory on the mountain also features a souvenir shop and restaurants. Highlights of the night view from Mt. Hakodate change with the seasons. In the autumn, the days are often fine and the air clear, during winter time, the glow of the city lights is reflected off the white snow enhancing the dazzling night view.
