Yasaka Shrine, Kyoto
Yasaka Shrine (八坂神社) is located in Kyoto’s Gion district, and is perhaps the most easily accessible shrine in the city for tourists. This shrine is known for it’s large orange gate overlooking Shijo, the main avenue through Gion. The shrine is impressive at night, when most buildings are lit with large, white paper lanterns. 
Tokyo Midtown meets Godzilla
Replica of the Godzilla which will be placed in the middle of Tokyo Midtown, will be built in 1/7 scale of Godzilla’s most titanic proportions to date, in his latest Hollywood rendition. Godzilla will be in the gardens from July 18 to August 31 for this “Midtown meets Godzilla” event as part of “MIDTOWN SUMMER 2014.” He will be open for public exhibition and photography between the hours of 11:00AM and 11:00PM. Once it hits 6:00PM, the replica will be lit up by a ray of light shining from the beast’s mouth. Between the hours of 7:00PM and 9:00PM, this will be accompanied by a special light show, occurring once every 30 minutes.
Kagurazaka Matsuri Festival Awa-Odori
Summer season brings a lot of fun outdoor activities around Japan. There are many fireworks festival, bon odori & matsuri around each town.This one here is a street Awa-odori (dance festival) of Kagurazaka Matsuri that held in Tokyo.
Fireworks at Shinji Town, Matsue
Summer celebrations with fireworks! This is a photo taken on 27th July over Lake Shinji, viewed from Shinji Town. The next large fireworks display will be held on Aug 9th & 10th over Lake Shinji, best viewed from central Matsue.
