Maruyama Park is located within five minutes by subway from downtown Sapporo. Despite its convenient location, the park has a serene and peaceful atmosphere, surrounded by leafy trees. There are many cherry blossoms in the park & it is the viewing season in Hokkaido now.
Hitsujiyama Park―Shibazakura (Moss Pink) Hill
Shibazakura Hill (Moss Pink) Hill, a beautiful spring sightseeing spot located in Hitsujiyama Park, overlooks the entire city area of Chichibu in Saitama Pref. About 400,000 moss phloxes are in full bloom from early April to early May on a hill that is approximately 17,600 square meters in size. The moss phloxes and cherry trees serve as colorful harbingers of spring.
Koinobori Festival in Ichikawa.
May 5, will be Children’s Day (Koinobori) in Japan. On this day carp-patterned wind socks (koinobori) will be hung up high outside the homes of the Japanese to symbolise a prayer that their kids will grow up healthy and strong. There will be a Carp Streamers Festival in Ichikawa pref, Chiba starting at 10am from May 4 & it says there will be about 500 of (Koinobori) that will be hang on Children’s Day.Hello Kitty is turning 40 – Hello Kitty in Shibuya
Hello Kitty is turning 40 & there will be a “Hello Kitty in Shibuya” event that runs from April 26 to May 6. So if you are in Tokyo you may go & check it out. It is also the Golden Week Holidays many Hello Kitty fans will be there to help Hello Kitty ring in her 40th year. During the event Kitty snacks are absolutely everywhere in Shibuya. There are Hello Kitty and My Melody mugs filled with vanilla mousse & Hello Kitty daifuku filled with strawberry and custard cream.
