Fireworks, Yokohama
A fireworks festival will be held today Saturday (August 23) in Yokohama! It starts from 1900hr to 2000hr. If you are about to spend your weekend in Tokyo, be sure make an evening trip to Yokohama for these fireworks! The event may be cancelled prior to heavy rain.
Ishiya White Chocolate Factory
This Ishiya White Chocolate Factory produced the best white chocolate in the country, you can’t get it anywhere other than in Hokkaido.The factory is a very fun place to tour around as they have a mini toy museum, a tour to see how the chocolate is made, a cafe that serve very nice hot chocolate and also a very romantic place to hang out the factory as they have a mini garden and a beautiful fountain at the compound.
Food in Sanrio Puroland
Located in Tokyo’s northwestern Tama New Town district, Sanrio Puroland is dedicated to the beloved feline and her Sanrio brethren. Puroland has the rides and shows you’d expect from an amusement park that was created to help fans spend the day with their favorite fictional characters. Sanrio Puroland also has its lineup of cute, colorful Sanrio foods.
Byodo-in Buddhist temple, Kyoto
The Phoenix Hall of Byodo-in Buddhist temple was founded in 1052 and is said to be Japan’s most beautiful building. Although a very large building, one can unknowingly be schlepping around multiple replicas in their pocket on any given day because this building is featured on the back of the Japanese 10-yen coin. Byodo-in is located in Uji, a delightful little town to stroll around.
The 3 wise Monkeys, Toshogu Shrine
The famous carving of the three wise monkeys is located over a doorway in the Toshugu Shrine. They were also carved by Hidari Jingoro. The monkeys show see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.The three wise monkeys are panel two of a series of eight panels using monkeys to show major life events in the cycle of life, such as: baby monkey achieving independence, falling in love etc.
