Otaru Snow Light Path Festival 2015
The pictures shown “Otaru Snow Light Path Festival 2015” that ended 2 days ago in Otaru in Hokkaido. There were various “snow lanterns” and sculptures illuminated, creating a warm atmosphere despite the harsh cold of Hokkaido in February. It was another successful snow event.
Suwa-ko Geyser Center
Lake Suwa-Ko Geyser Center is a 50 meter high intermittent hot spring that rank world’s 2nd largest of its kind. About every hour, a 50-meter high spring sprouts on the lake shore of Suwa-ko in front of this dynamic spring is the Suwa-ko Geyser Center. Facilities in the center include showers, jet stream pool, outdoor hot spring pool, and a reference room that includes information regarding Suwa-ko and its spring.
Dazaifu Tenman-gu, Fukuoka
Dazaifu Tenman-gu is located in the city of Dazaifu, Fukuoka Prefecture. The shrine is famous for its plum trees. The ‘Tobi-ume’ (flying plum) trees, which, according to legend, flew to Dazaifu from Kyoto after Sugawara Michizane (as the God of academic achievement), come into bloom earlier than other plum trees every year. Many students taking entrance examinations visit Dazaifu Tenman-gu seeking divine favor from this deity of learning.’
