Unique ice-cream
Want to try some of these unique ice-cream ? Hakone is an area of Japan southwest of Tokyo. It is mostly famous for Onsen (hot spring baths). You can try all these unique flavor ice-cream in a place call Owakudani (steam vent) in Hakone. Flavor includes vanila, black sesame, wasabi & egg ice-cream! Yes, you read that right. I had tried wasabi ice-cream it tasted like somebody had mixed real wasabi with ice cream. It wasn’t tasted that bad. It was a little spicy but there was something about it. That egg-flavored ice cream was really good!(which tastes like cream).
Yosakoi Soran Festival 2013
Continue with yesterday post, the video clip show one of the performer group of Yosakoi Soran Festival, 2013. They are Shinkotani-Tenburyujin (新琴似天舞龍神) a famous group that consist members from as young as primary school 1st grader to adult dancers. This group had won 16Years of consecutive award. Besides performing in the different parts of Japan for summer festival this group also perform in overseas like in China & Hawaii.
Yosakoi Soran
Yosakoi Soran is held in SAPPORO CITY (HOKKAIDO JAPAN). This festival includes not only local people but people from all over Japan and the world. It is a well known event attracting thousands of performers and millions of spectators. The YOSAKOI SORAN Festival is a combination of YOSAKOI FESTIVAL forms from KOUCHI and SOURANBUSHI (fisherman’s song) from HOKKAIDO. Now summer in SAPPORO means the YOSAKOI SORAN Festival !! Event held from Jun 5th – 9th, 2013 in Sapporo city.
Umihotaru
Umihotaru is a glorified parking lot built at great cost in the middle of the ocean – Tokyo Bay to be exact. The artificial island is known as umihotaru and the highway project goes by the name of Tokyo Aqua-Line, combining central Tokyo with southern Chiba prefecture. Connecting Chiba prefecture with Umihotaru is a bridge of about 4.4km. The whole thing took 31 years to finish. Officially it is a rest area for drivers but in reality it is for most people the only reason to use the tunnel. The island has restaurants, cafes, parking and rest spaces, a viewing deck – that is quite popular with plane spotters (Narita Airport is very close). There is even a Starbucks cafe on the island. As far as I know, the only Starbucks cafe in the middle of the ocean.
Tokyo Disney Resort
Tokyo Disney Resort is celebrating it’s 30th Anniversary Celebration this year with the theme “The Happiness Year”. From the beginning, Tokyo Disney Resort has been a place where “Dreams come true,” creating memories filled with happiness for all the Guest. At Tokyo Disneyland Park, the New* day-time parade will show “Happiness Is Here”. Theme to various kind of “happiness” as expressed by the Disney characters. Spanning a lenght of 500meters & composed of 13 floats & 7 themed units, this spectacular parade overflows with vibrant color, fun & exhilaration. As for night sky entertainment with the themed “Happiness on High,” this fireworks spectacular is a special version just for the 30th Anniversary celebration. (Not persented during certain period). This Happiness event will be held from Apr 15 , 2013 through March 20, 2014.
