Supermoon 2013
The fullmoon on June 23, 2013 will not only be the closest and largest full moon of the year. It’ll also present the moon’s closest encounter with Earth for all of 2013. Yes, many will call the June 2013 full moon a supermoon. The supermoon viewed yesterday nearby Tokyo Tower.
Koi-yamagata Station
A new train station date spot has opened up in the Tottori Prefecture, Japan, in what used to be Koi-Yamagata Station. Since only about two passengers were passing through Koi-Yamagata every day, residents of the area decided to renovate this unused train station into a cute date spot. The renovated designs include a bright pink paint job and decorative wooden hearts. In fact, pink permeates the new train station date spot, from the walls to the benches to the lamp posts. Even the railings are painted a vibrant, bubblegum pink. Above each bench, a series of red hearts are painted on the wall, making this an extremely happy-go-lucky romance spot.

Mount Fuji has recently been recommended as a UNESCO World Heritage site. There are 30 sites nominated for World Heritage recognition. It was announced the nominations list, which included sites in China, India and the Philippines. Mount Fuji was 19th on the list, categorized as a cultural property. Mount Fuji would be Japan’s 17th World Heritage site if approved by the 21-member committee under the U.N.
Mt. Fuji
Mt. Fuji is the most famous mountain in Japan. The area surrounding Mt. Fuji is a most attractive tourist route for there are all kinds of sightseeing spots as well as resorts. To climb Mt. Fuji, you will need to plan an overnight visit. Mt. Fuji is only open to hikers from 1 July to late August. The best time for climbing Mt. Fuji is from late July to late August when the weather conditions are stable. Please also note that, even in mid-summer, the average temperature at the summit is between 5 deg C and 8 deg C. Depending on the wind conditions, you will feel the temperature dropping to near freezing point.
Enoshima Sea Candle
At the top of Enoshima Island, there is a light house so most of the locals will call it as the Enoshima light house or Enoshima Observatory Tower. The Old light house was replaced by a new one on May 2003. And because of the unique shape of a candle it is now named as the Enoshima Sea Candle. The new style of the light house is more well-known by tourist. From the observation deck of the lighthouse, you can see Enoshima Sailing Club which was once used as a base for Olympic sailing competition. The Sea Candle makes its way to the 10th Anniversary this year.
