It is called keisatsusho (\u8b66\u5bdf\u7f72) in Japanese. It is a little different from the police box known as koban, which are substations of the police headquarter in the prefecture. My friend who was driving pointed it out to me and said to be careful to not break the law or I will end up there. Truthfully the place looked adorable and not intimidating.
