Yokozuna Sumo Stone Monuments
Tomioka Hachimangu is famous for having served as the site of sumo tournaments for a century starting in 1684, before it was moved to Ryogoku. Although the shrine no longer hosts sumo tournaments, it continues to maintain close ties to sumo.The shrine precincts contain monuments celebrating famous yokozuna (the top rank in sumo) and ozeki (the second-highest rank) from the past & one stone slab has hand prints and foot prints of sumo wrestlers.
Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine
Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine is the biggest shrine dedicated to Hachiman, the Shinto god of war, in Tokyo. Built in 1627 and it didn’t take long for it to become a major shrine in Edo’s downtown. One of the prides of the shrine is its biggest “mikoshi” in the Kanto region.
Jewel of Shonan, Enoshima
“Jewels of Shonan” is an annual series of illumination events held on Enoshima Island in Kanagawa Prefecture. One of them is the “Sea Candle Light Up” which illuminates the island’s symbolic observation platform, creating the impression that lights are falling from the sky. This event will be held until Feb 1, 2015.
Disneyland eatery
Aren’t they cute ! It’s Mickey’s hand “Pao”. Burger like sand with fried chicken, lettuce & some sweet sauce. And Disneyland Tokyo turns Mike the green eye creature to a very yummy japanese red beans dessert. You can find this meal in Plaza Restaurant.
Shisui Outlet, Narita
Shisui outlet mall is quite a new outlet which is only about 15 ~20mins away from Narita Airport. While it seems a bit smaller than other outlets it was a fun place to kill an afternoon before or after your flight. There are a variety of stores, food court & cafe for you to enjoy. In the food court itself there is a huge flight arrival/departure screen board too so that you can check on your flight update. The outlet is doing some expansion & in July 2015 there will be an additional of 70 stores.
