Royce’ Chocolate World
Chocolate World is produced by a Hokkaido’s local chocolate maker ROYCE. It was opened at New Chitose Airport on the 15th of July, 2011. It is the first chocolate factory and museum located inside of an airport in Japan. The fun and vibrant gift shop offers a wide range of items that you can’t get anywhere else! Look for 200 varieties of very original products. When you got a chance to visit Hokkaido do drop by visit and explore the chocolate world.
Chirimen hanging dolls
Chirimen is a traditional weaving technique that was developed in the late sixteenth century in Japan. The cloth or silk fabric that is made from, this technique is also called “chirimen.” The touch is so soft & artfully mix colors in the hanging chirimen Hina dolls.
Kiyomizu historical district: Inclined to shop
A good area to shop is the street going down from the Kiyomizu-dera Temple into the Kiyomizu historic district. Take the wide stone stairs down from the temple, then turn right at the corner where the street goes straight down. There are lots of other delightful little shops and a nice noodle restaurant on your right. It’s in the Higashiyama district. What you can buy: Handicrafts, fans [check source], silk scarves, knives, ceramics. There is something for every price point. I like buying things like chopstick rests and other small tableware that will remind me of Japan. What to pay: From a couple of dollars to a lot.
Yokohama ramen museum
This is a museum dedicated to Japanese noodles. It is an eclectric ensemble of old-style Tokyo and a display of all the instand noodle packaging throughout the years. There is also a section where you can try the different styles of ramen in a recreated noodle stall.

Yokohama, being Japan’s second-largest city, has a little something for everyone. Its romantic harbor is lined with parks and backed by a breathtaking skyline. History buffs can see numerous centuries-old structures inside Sankeien Garden. The Ramen Museum and Chinatown are great foodie destinations, and the Noge and Kannai districts are filled with enough cocktail bars and brewpubs that you can relax & enjoy in the night after a long day of travelling.
