The Yunishigawa Kamakura Festival
The Yunishigawa Kamakura Festival is held over a period of almost three months from mid January to late March when the village is covered with snow. Hundreds of snow huts are built and illuminated by candle lights. You can enjoy a barbeque in kamakura, (snow huts) in the daytime, and in the evening, see the fantastic views of the candle-lit huts dotted throughout the village.

Sakura Cherry Blossom Forecast for 2014 is out! For those heading to Japan to see the flowers, you may wish to start planning for your itinerary. Tokyo is slated to reach full bloom around 29 March, Kyoto and Osaka should be around 27 March, while Sapporo should be around 5 May. We hope that you’ll get to see plenty of cherry blossoms on your spring trip to Japan! *Note: As this is only a forecast, the exact blooming date may vary due to weather conditions!
Tokyo is covered in snow
The Japan Meteorological Agency issued the first heavy rare snowfall for Tokyo in 20 years last Saturday. The snowstorm had already dumped about 4 inches of snow on the city by Saturday afternoon and a total of 8 inches by Sunday morning. If you were in Tokyo, you are consider lucky to get a chance to enjoy the rare heavy snowfall. Hope you enjoyed & get some pretty photos for remembrance.
Sapporo Snow Festival 2014
Spectacular!! the handing over ceremony for the magnificent ice sculpture of the iconic Sultan Abdul Samad Building of Malaysia on Feb 5 as part of the ongoing 65th Sapporo Snow Festival 2014 in Hokkaido, Japan. This year’s snow festival, running from Feb 5 till Feb 11, 2014. Don’t miss out the chance if you are in the city of Sapporo.
Ukiyo-e exhibition
The masterpieces of Ukiyo-e, including representative pieces by Sharaku, Hokusai and Hiroshige, will be collected from Japan and all across the world for exhibition in Edo Tokyo Museum from (Jan 2 ~ Mar 2) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the foundation of International Ukiyo-e Society. Around 340 of works on exhibit will cover entire history of Ukiyo-e. The exhibition is somewhat like a school textbook that introduces Okubi-e, Yakusha-e, Kamigata-e and landscapes.
