New Chitose Airport
Being the largest airport on the island, it serves as the gateway to Hokkaido for the numerous tourists that visit both from within and outside of Japan. The New Chitose Airport after undergoing some expansion work in recent years between 2010 to 2012, the airport is now a seriously impressive shopping, dining and entertainment complex that looks and feels like a theme park.
Matsue Castle
Matsue Castle today Feb 24th, still a little cold out there, but an impressive sight on a sunny day!
Goryokaku Park, Hakodate
Goryokaku Park is named for the pentagon shaped fort in the middle of the park in Hakodate city. The park has 1,660 cherry blossom trees. In Spring, you will notice a lot of hanami (cherry blossom viewing) parties going on. There is no admission fees to the park itself but it cost 800 yen to go up the Goryokaku Tower to see the pentagon shape.
Happy Cat Day!
Japan loves its cats. It’s Cat Day! The one day in Japan that celebrates our feline friends. Either they’re playing with cute kitties between sips of coffee at one of the nation’s many cat cafes or a visit to the Shrine of the Cat.
Roppongi Hills
Roppongi Hill is a sprawling complex with more than 200 stores. It also includes a Hyatt hotel, a private club, residences in the tower, a arena, a Virgin Cinema, an art center and even a TV studio. You can walk around the complex as it has so much to see ! The complex is 11.6 hectares and includes tons of trees. The numerous towers blends well in the environment and the architecture is great.
