Rice Paddy Art in Inakadate Village
“Tanbo Art”- Rice Paddy Art event that take place in Aomori Prefecture each year, is a huge aerial picture created by planting three different colors of rice plants – ancient rice of yellow and purple plants and the current green plant – in a paddy about 145 by 50 meters. The main purpose behind the creation was to take advantage of the tradition of manual work in rice cultivation to give people an opportunity to learn more about rice farming and agriculture. You can view the “Tanbo Art” from an observatory deck of the building that resembles a castle tower in the First Venue of Inakadate-mura Town Hall. It is open from 9:00~17:00 beginning of June ~ mid-October.
