Guan Gong Temple, Yokohama

IMG_4413-cropYokohama Kanteibyo (Guan Gong Temple) is one of the oldest temples in Chinatown. Founded in 1862 by migrant Chinese, the temple has faced numerous calamities. It was destroyed by the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake. The present temple was completed in 2000. Guan Gong Temple is open to public for offerings & prayers. The picture above shows the light-up of the temple with hanging chinese lanterns during Chinese New Year.
