Osaka, the largest city
in the Kansai Region, visit Himeji and Kurashiki.
Proceed to Hiroshima,
a dynamic city offering great food, nightlife and
the sobering Peace Memorial
Museum and Park. Take a day trip to the nearby
sacred Miyajima Island,
hop on a bullet train to Osaka; visit Nara before
transfer to the ancient
city of Kyoto for three nights. Travel to
Kanazawa, one of feudal Japan's
wealthiest cities, located on the Sea of Japan.
Enjoy a tour of the UNESCO-listed
thatched-roof farmhouses in Shirakawa-go en route
to Takayama, a tradition-steeped
mountain hamlet in the shadow of the Japan Alps.
Visit the photogenic Black
Crow Castle (matsumoto Castle) and Ukiyoe Museum
in Matsumoto. Spend a
day at Mt. Fuji and Hakone, then transfer to Tokyo
for a three nights.
