Spring is one of the beautiful times to visit Japan. Starting in March, cherry trees blossom into downy flowers and continue through May. The blossoms, known as sakura, symbolize rebirth and herald the beginning of spring. The Japanese celebrate by visiting temples, castles, and parks, forming impromptu viewing parties. They gather beneath the pink blossoms to indulge in food and drink, sometimes reveling deep into the night. Along with cherry blossoms, azalea, wisteria, camellia, and irises bloom in the spring, becoming the center of Japan´s many festivals.
In the spring, travelers should bring light sweaters and jackets.

Group Tours "Summer"

Summer is the season of fireworks in Japan. Nearly every night communities gather to organize firework displays, its colorful streaks enlivening the evening sky. Large scale festivals feature folk dancing and ´bon odori,´ a traditional dance to welcome ancestors.
For the summer months, light cotton clothing is sufficient, but a light jacket is recommended for air conditioned rooms.

Autumn signals cool temperatures and stunning foliage in deep crimson, orange, and gold. This is also harvest time, when rice is cut, baled, and stacked in trim rows. Festivals like the Nikko Toshogu Shrine Festival and the Takayama Autumn Festival showcase historical costumes and wind up marionettes. The latter is considered one of the most beautiful festivals in Japan, and crowds gather in the evening to watch the lighting of the chochin lanterns. Chrysanthemum shows are also popular in the fall, with hundreds of varieties featured.
Light jackets and sweaters are recommended for the cool weather.

Winter in Japan is not severe and varies by location. On the Pacific coast the climate tends to be dry, and the skies are frequently blue. The southern regions of Japan like Kyushu have mild and even warm weather. In the North, in areas like Hokkaido and the central mountain ranges, the winter is very cold with plenty of snow. Each year Hokkaido hosts the Sapporo Snow Festival, which features giant, intricately carved snow sculptures. The sculptures attract nearly 2 million people every year.
Warm clothes such as coats, sweaters, and boots are a necessity for winter.
